How Türkiye's visa fees work
The e-Visa fee depends on your nationality. You fill in your details online and pay the fee at the end 1. The official system accepts Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, American Express and several other payment methods 3.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says e-Visas from evisa.gov.tr are cheaper than visas obtained on arrival at Turkish airports 1. The e-Visa is only valid for tourism or commerce. For work or study you apply at a Turkish embassy or consulate 1.
The published fee table is old
The foreign ministry links to a fee table dated 10 November 2014 1,2. Many countries on that list, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, are now visa-exempt for ordinary passports 1. We could not confirm current e-Visa amounts from an official source, so check the price on evisa.gov.tr before you pay 3.
For reference, the 2014 table showed these amounts 2:
Who does not need a visa in 2026
- United States, Canada and United Kingdom ordinary passport holders are exempt for up to 90 days in any 180-day period 1.
- Australian ordinary passport holders are exempt for tourist visits and transit for 90 days within 180 days 1.
- Chinese ordinary passport holders are exempt for up to 90 days in any 180-day period from 2 January 2026 1.
- Indian ordinary passport holders need a visa, but those with a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit can get a one-month single-entry e-Visa 1.
- South African ordinary passport holders need a visa. They can get a one-month single-entry e-Visa online 1.
Refunds and official site
